I JUST REVIEWED YOUR MUSAAAAAK!!!!!!

The end.

Druids-Warcry responds:

that was a beautiful story brother It had a happy ending

Loving the piano intro to this song. The story i'm getting from this song is a lost love and a man reflecting looking out a window to a raining front porch where he remembers being with his lost love. Wonderful but i feel its missing something. Perhaps if you added some subtle strings it would give a bit more to the song. For the most part though its a wonderful listen and it makes the imagination run. That is what i believe music SHOULD do. So great work.

BlazingDragon responds:

Thank you for the suggestion about the subtle strings. I can see how that would add to the texture.

And nice story, too...It makes me think about the girl I like. I sure hope that I'm never that guy you describe! :p

Very nice for the most part. I have to say though that your lead in for this was a little long and i feel would bore some people. For the most part waiting is well worth it. You got a pretty cool sound here. Though I'm not 100 % with the guitar synths. They work for what your using them for however i bet this could TRULY shine if you used some better samples. Keep it up buddy and good work on this.

Treviabot92-Virstein responds:

It's been way too long since I've seen any comments from you, man. Literally almost four years. Where've you been? lol

Getting back to the comment itself...the synths I used were used mainly because of my own personal preference. They're tried and true, and I have a hard time giving up using something that works, you know what I'm saying? I would hope that the relatively long wait would be worth it, since I don't make my songs and covers to disappoint. In fact, I just heard from a friend of mine only this Monday that my song "Battle of Gram Cave" made his Tron lightcycle game that much more epic. Obviously, that means I did good in making loops.

That same friend also told me that he held off in telling me that so as to not let it go to my head. At the same time, though, I know I'm good, and I know I might even be one of the best in my genre, if not on NG, but at the same time, there's better artists on NG, like Goukisan, DjSc00p, EvilDog, and you. It's gratifying to be told that my music is good, because that tells me that four years means something.

Thanks for the review!

Usually I'm all in when it comes to a song like this. However somethings very off about this particular song. It loops nicely I'll say that much. However its missing so much. My advice would be to turn down your choir slightly so its in the background add some more strings for the foreground perhaps give it a slow beat leading up and then go into something full on with a slightly quicker tempo but keeping your ambient feel. Remember Ambient is supposed to be relaxing. None the less Good work and keep it up.

xoshaow3 responds:

thank you for your advice. given this is jsut a very short work and no true details are in anything is addable and adjustable :) i have already lowered the choir and i am attempting to make it have a more calm feel first. everything will take its play. again thanks for the criticism. i and my friends who test listen agree that everything sounds better when you have different people give you different ideas to try. thanks!

Reminds me of a chase theme song. Like one car chasing the other guns blasting and life or death kind of scene. Lovely use of instrumentation. Nice mix also. What gets me is you put all this hard work into the song and no one else has reviewed? What has this community turned into? Anyway, I could do without some of the clips in the song. That is just personal preference though. The break down at 2:09 was pretty cool. I'm listening to see what this turns into. Again at this point of the song good use of effects though there's those voice clips i'm not fond of again. I think in this case less is best for something like that. Anyway, This transitioned into something pretty nice to listen to none the less. Good work and keep it up!

Loving the church bell at the opening of the song. I think perhaps some choir in the background at that point would bring out the other instruments you have that play along. The song itself seems to work for a horrific moment in someones life. Though the song is wanting a bit.. needs a little more to add that effect. Perhaps a heartbeat drum in the background. Those are my two cents. Good work thus far though.

I see what you're saying, and I think you're right. Thank you for the comments! I really appreciate them.

Tooth pain is the worst kind of pain bro. Hope all is better now. Anyway, on to the review.

The opening is a pretty good build up. Makes me feel like something awesome is gonna happen. Nice use of choir and i believe strings for that build up. Ah, the song has begun and gives off a silent hill vibe to me. Running from monsters and the unknown. The song is tittled I feel for good reason obviously. Wonderful work on this. The piano added to the song gives a wonderful feel but i feel there could of been more to it. though i guess sometimes less is best eh? Wonderful work and good luck on the competition.

InvisibleObserver responds:

I think the section post 1:13 drags a little, but I think the song is at a mix point where non-head phone listeners lose a lot of the acoustically effects. I'll probably layer up the main flippy floppy panny reverb on/off synth with something subtle that's centered.

More to what exactly? The piano and its writing? PM me more deets. I think its worst hit by a few quick transitions with it, and needing a little more velocity layer work. Some spots are sexy and others sound to me like I'm playing piano with my ass cheeks (not a good thing).

Glad you liked the intro - I was certainly trying something a little more teasery there.

This is more like it!

How is it that the other songs I've listened to hurt my ears but this one sounds sooo amazingly awesome? Anyway, This is what i'm talking about. Leveling your sounds. Not Everything is as loud as everything else. I must say i don't like the slayer guitar in this however we all have our Slayer phases lol. So for the most part good work on this one and keep it up!

Wyldfyre1

SanaeKochiya responds:

Thank you, but i didn't use slayer guitars in this song. I used some other guitar synthezer.

I'm freaking blown away with your work buddy. Everything i'm hearing is amazing.. This kinda reminds me of a song you would hear in a Tim Burton film. Very clock-worky for my lack of better words. Wonderfully done I must say. You indeed got your ten on this one. Well earned and wonderful. I'm VERY impressed!

Wyldfyre1

Step responds:

Oh HELL yes. My life is complete!

I'm really flattered. I agree, it does sound like something you'd hear in a Tim Burton film!

Very glad you like it, thanks a lot for the review!

Has a anime feel to it for some reason.

Its not too bad i think some of the mixing for the vocals could of been slightly better however for the most part you've done a pretty good job. its a good listen!. Keep it up!

Wyldfyre1

nahtanojmal responds:

:) I agree, I think I compressed the vocals a bit too much. Thanks for your input ;)
